We have a 2 1/2 old year ferret his name is Uzzo and he appears in your photos section.

(some at the society may remember hearing from me.. Smiley )

This is our first ferret and we have him out of the cage as much as possible, however,  a lot of times he ends up burying himself in one of our drawers and goes to sleep.

We are concerned that he is bored.  We have some toys, we play with him but still he wants to sleep.  He takes his toys hides them then forgets them.  He is in good health as per the vet.

So is he bored or do we have a sleepy ferret...

Hey there,

Are you aware that ferrets sleep up to 18 hours a day? Perhaps your kid is up when you're out. If you are worried about boredom, which can happen in the finest of households, the best toy a ferret can have is another ferret. It is no more trouble or up-keep and will guarantee that your wee hob or jill always has someone to talk to. Have you considered fostering? One reason for having more than one ferret is the fact that they do sleep so much. Multiples kind of ensure that at least one of them will be up to play with.

We have 3, and it seems they are always sleeping...when they are not up pooping or wreaking havock that is...

I concur!!  Fuzzies naturally sleep a lot, but sometimes they do get lonely and will sleep when bored and another fuzzy can sure help, as long as they get along!  Fostering is a great idea, you can try one or a pair out with your fuzzy, see if they get along, and presto adopto, new family!!  3 are better than 1, lots of weasely fun!
