Hi - New Member and New Ferret Parent

Greetings from South Lancaster. We just adopted a lovely little girl from the Cornwall SPCA. We named her Freya. She is an absolute sweetheart and loves my rubber boots. She is fitting in very nicely.

We found a vet, after a 24 hour search through the phone book and from references, in Winchester who has given Freya a passing health exam. It is a long way to travel but the vet is friendly, seems knowledgeable, and finds ferrets adorable.

kitaye, you drove from Lancaster to Winchester for a vet?  That is dedication!!
If you use Facebook and we do a lot more than our forum, please get in touch with Crusher Ferret, he should be able to steer in the right direction of a ferret knowledgeable vet closer to home.  I'm British so understand the frustrations of finding a vet who knows one end of a ferret from the other.  British ferrets are healthier though so you should no need one as often as the North American ferrets who are farmed.

Congratulations on being a new fuzzie mum to Freya, she is one lucky ferret.
