Harley came to the rescue with a tumour on her tail, right at the end, which made her look as though she was towing an acorn.  The 'acorn' grew to the size of a large cherry whilst the rescue  tried to find the funds to pay for the surgery.  Today Harley had the lump removed, we anticipated that she would lose the whole tail but just the lump was removed.  For her recovery, Harley is separated from her cage mates and her best pal, Bandita.  When I left her she was drinking and eating which is always a good sign.  Harley is a dark sable who has the sweetest nature, very gentle and loves to cuddle, we never catch her up to any mischief. Harley also loves to chase the vacuum around which she can now do without the hindrance of her nasty lumpy tail.
I would have liked to have brought her to my home for her recovery but as Blaze aka Arthur still has a few sores it is not a good idea in case he infects Harley's wound, that would be disastrous.

Harley is doing incredibly well.  When I let her out of solitary confinement to have a little play with the crazies yesterday it was as if nothing was any different (except that Harley is sporting a shocking pink tail bandage).  When I turned my back she was up and over the stair gate, same adventurous Harley.
When I saw Harley today Beth had removed the bandage and the tail is looking good, bald but good, more like a bottle brush.    Harley is sharing her recovery cage with her best friend Bandita for company, she'll soon be able to return to her gang.  Not for too long I hope as Harley and Bandita are extremely adoptable ferrets.

Harley has now been adopted to a wonderful forever home.  Harley had previously selected her new ferret mom at a recent AGM, we just had to wait for the ferret mom to catch up and realise.  This is the perfect outcome for Harley since she lost her best friend Bandita a few weeks ago.
