Harried white ferret
Cannot hear her protest squeaks.
Brown ferret will not.
Ferrets white and brown
Circle into spiral rest
Stilled in taoist sleep
Straining to go out
At last is freed from his cage
Backs into corner
Paw patter nears.
Cheek pressed flat on mattress edge.
Sudden eye to eye.
