Spring Ferret Frolic 2005
Post Frolic Report
Despite our setup being delayed by the Ottawa Marathon and the threatening weather, our Spring 2005 Ferret Frolic was our most successful ever. There were 99 registered ferrets and we had lots of participation in all the games. The total amount raised at this event was $2,144. If we subtract our expenses for food, supplies, hammock material, van rental and bumper stickers ($400), our total profit from this event was $1,744. This total, plus funds from recent garage sales, cage sales and adoptions, allowed us to pay off our vet bills for the first time in 3 years.
Following are the results of the various events:
Lightest Female Dilly 0.59kg
Heaviest Female Sugar Pie 1.44kg

Auction #3 - Speakers Chantal $30
Auction #4 - Speakers Chantal $25
Auction #5 - Cage Toby $200
Auction #6 - Cage Yannick $200
As seen in the results, the Silent Auction cages did very well. Many factors helped boost their value: Advance Promotion, Extra goodies such as (hammocks, cleaning kits, bowls, etc) and having them setup on-site. These also resulted in an additional $200 cage sale to one of the losing bidders (the cage was donated by SuperPet and we did not have time to set it up).
